Broncos beat Manuel C. Eagles, originally from Brisbane

Maroon coach Billy Slater’s Broncos young gunman Selouin Kobo should be given a chance to make some important decisions at the selection table after the call.

Kobo, in his 17th first-grade game on Friday night, played with a hat-trick performance for the Broncos as Brisbane beat Manly 38-0.

Although the 19-year-old did not appear in any junior Maroon squad before becoming a regular starter in the NRL this season, rugby league great Paul Watin said that the winger’s rapid growth meant little to him.

“No doubt they will [consider bringing him in]Bhatin said in the coverage of Nine.

“If there is room for him in the team, if there is injury, I will play him.

“Some kids don’t make the Under-16s, the Under-16s or the Under-19s, but over a period of a year, they find themselves out of those groups.

“They became such good players in one year.”

Cobbo did not shy away from being asked to feature for the Maroons this season.

“For me, playing for my state will mean the world,” he told Nine after the team’s victory.

“Growing up, I didn’t play for any of the Queensland teams. It would be exciting to be able to play for a big team.

“I want to represent my state.”

Broncos coach Kevin Walters was also asked about Kobo’s bid to wear the Maroon jersey.

Walters says the signs point in the right direction for the young star to continue naming himself.

I think so. Walters says.

Even Broncos captain Adam Reynolds was full of admiration when asked about Kobo’s chances.

“He’s definitely a genius. I just love seeing him smile. He’s a kid who’s trying his best and he’s enjoying the challenge. He’s doing the hardest thing out there that not everyone sees,” Reynolds said.

“I don’t want to compare him to Greg, because he’s not Greg Inglis, he’s just Selouin Cobbo and his development is only going to get better. We’re working really hard to train with him. You’re going to go somewhere. “

The Origin series begins on June 8 with Game I.
