Cody Simpson has been named in Australia’s Commonwealth Games squad.
The vision shows Simpson sitting on the stand with his partner, five-time Olympic gold medalist Emma McEwan, when he receives a message on his phone.
After reading the message, Simpson covered his face with his hand in shock before sharing a hug with an exuberant McCain.

“It’s something unexpected that I had no idea this would happen soon in my swimming career,” Simpson said after his election was confirmed.
“If you had told me two years ago I would be standing here now, I’d probably punch you in the face or something else, I wouldn’t believe it.”
When the 25-year-old joins the Dolphins squad in Birmingham in July, Olympic gold medalist Kyle Chalmer will miss next month’s FINA World Championships in Budapest after falling behind in his decision to skip the event.
The relationship between Simpson and Chalmer was one of the most exciting subplots at the Australian Swimming Championships last week, and Chalmer was absent during the announcement of the Commonwealth Games squad.
The World Swimming Championships will begin on June 17 and run until July 3, before the Commonwealth Games take place between July 28 and August 8.
