Collingwood giant Mason Cox has attacked his critics after Magpies’ four-point win over Carlton on Sunday in the season’s best performance.
The Cox finished with a season-high 11 disposal and grabbed six marks with a goal in the crucial win, a welcome sight for Collingwood fans after a few seasons of rock for their American cult hero.

He has become a polarizing figure due to a big money deal in the Collingwood pay cap issue, but Cox is not distracted by the criticism he faces.
“I know a lot of people like to talk a little bad in the media and don’t do it, but it doesn’t really bother me. It’s not going through their journey. I’m proud of my career and where I am,” said Cox. AFL Media
“If people want to talk dirty, they can talk nonsense. Honestly, I think when I look back at my career, I’m very proud and happy about how it went.
“Honestly, it’s been a bit of a slug for the last two years. It’s been up and down and around. It’s good to be back in a big game in front of a lot of people.
“One person is a bit unlucky because of Brody Grande’s injury, but I’m fortunate to have a little more chance in the push. I’m really excited to see where it goes.”
