Front row matt lodge has been released, effective immediately from the Warriors.
In a push for the club, given the green light to go to the lodge despite being under contract until the end of the season, he has the option of a player for next year.
The club confirmed the news on Friday morning, Lodge revealed that his family could not be committed to living in New Zealand for the long term. A new destination for the former West Tiger and Broncos stars has not yet been announced, so the mystery surrounding the next move by the front row.

“We decided that the best thing for the club was to separate us so that they would have some clarity,” Lodge said.
“I have a lot of respect for the club and especially the boys and hopefully I have shown the way I have trained and played physically and given all my games.”
According to Warriors CEO Cameron George the decision was made for some time, the club is now looking to develop young players.

“Matt told us a while ago that for professional and personal reasons he could not be committed to a long-term future in New Zealand when we return to the country next season,” said George.
“We are grateful to Matt for the contribution he has made since joining us last year and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
