Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins has resigned from the IPL following an injury to his buttocks, multiple outlets have reported.
It is understood the 29-year-old has returned to Sydney to rest and begin his recovery.
According to reports, Cummins is expected to be fit in time for Australia’s ODI and Test tour of Sri Lanka next month.

It has already been announced that the fast bowler will miss three T20 matches to start the six-week tour.
Cummins has played five matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders this IPL season where he has been handling hip complaints.
At that time he made the joint-fastest fifty in the history of the tournament and took seven wickets, including 3-22 in his last match against the Mumbai Indians.
With the Knight Riders sixth in the table and less likely to advance beyond the group stage, Cummins has opted to withdraw and prepare for Australia’s busy upcoming schedule.
His recovery is expected to take only a fortnight.
