Australian coach Graham Arnold has said that their do-or-die qualifier against Peru at a neutral venue in Qatar will be played in their hands instead of their opponents.
Although intercontinental play-offs are usually played on two legs where each country hosts one, this time it is instead a sudden death game in Qatar, where there is a spot in the November World Cup.

“We had a good opportunity to prepare and adapt,” he told reporters on Monday.
“Players just have to go there, train and work.”
Arnold agreed, saying the two-week stay in Qatar was the longest time the team had been together – and the position would work for them.
“We are very familiar with the Middle East,” he said, quoting numerous scores of “home” games that the Scaroras played on neutral ground because of Kovid.
“We see this only as an advantage.”
